Motherboard & Board-Level Repair in Bath
When a laptop, MacBook or PC won’t power on, many shops quote for a new motherboard — or a new computer. We diagnose the board itself and replace the individual failed components, which is often far cheaper and saves your data too.
What is board-level repair?
A motherboard is made of hundreds of small components — power controllers, MOSFETs, capacitors, fuses and chips. Usually only one or two of them fail. Instead of throwing the whole board away, we trace the fault with proper test equipment and replace just the failed parts under a microscope. It’s skilled work that most high-street and online repair services don’t offer.
Faults we repair

Common MacBook Air and MacBook Pro board faults, including no-power and liquid-damaged boards.

Ports & connectors
Broken USB, HDMI and charging ports, and damaged internal connectors.
Spilled a drink on your laptop? Unplug it, switch it off, don’t try to turn it back on to “check”, and contact us as soon as you can. Liquid damage gets worse with time and power — the sooner it’s cleaned, the better the chance of a full repair.
Why it’s worth repairing
- Costs less — a component-level repair is usually a fraction of the price of a new board or a new laptop.
- Keeps your data — your files, programs and settings stay exactly where they were.
- Better for the planet — fewer perfectly good devices end up as e-waste.
- Honest advice — if a repair isn’t economical, we’ll tell you, and help you recover your data.
